Art Nouveau
Art Nouveau flourished between 1890-1905. This style of New Art with it’s curvaceous floral and plant influenced designs and decorative architecture became popular throughout Europe. A leading role in Art Nouveau was artist Alphonse Mucha (1860-1905)
When living in Paris he produced a lithographed poster of actress Sarah Bernhardt, it was an overnight sensation and heralded the start of this era.
