HOW DO I GET TO WHERE I WANT TO BE?
I am looking to go back to basics as a start in my research. To investigate traditional crafts and techniques relevant to my field, how to master and develop them in a contemporary manner for my own practice.
In researching a general history of fashion and historical costume doors have started opening rapidly. Too many at once! I will be looking at ancient sewing techniques, work done in old ateliers, some of which are sadly dying out, there are probably only a relevantly small number of these. In learning from the past I intend to move forward.
